Bobby’s Schiedam Jenever is the newest spirit from Bobby’s, and according to the brandowner, this is a western genever. This is a unique blend of Indonesian spices, traditional malt wine and grain alcohol.
Just like Bobby’s Dry Gin, Bobby’s Jenever is also distilled by Herman Jansen Distillery in Schiedam, Holland. Herman Jansen is a family owned distillery with many years of experience within the spirit industry. The Distillery is founded in 1777 in Schiedam, the Jenever Capitol of the world.
Tasting notes:
On the nose, Bobby’s Schiedam Jenever is very aromatic with notes of malt wine. On the palate, you feel a fresh burst of lemongrass and herbs at first sip.

About the producer

Bobby's Gin

Back in 1777 in the Netherlands, to be exact in Schiedam – the jenever capitol of the world – Herman Jansen distilled his first malt wine gin at Distillery “De Tweelingh”. This unique spirit, known as “Dutch Courage” was shipped to the United Kingdom. Over time it was evolved to what we today know as London Dry Gin.

In 1950, Jacobus Alfons, or Bobby to his family and friends, born in Naku, Ambon (Indonesia), migrated to the Netherlands. Bobby loved Dutch Jenever, but he missed the taste of home, so he started infusing his jenever with familiar Indonesian spices and herbs. Unknowingly he was creating his own gin and he was laying the foundation for Bobby’s Schiedam Dry Gin.

In 2012, Bobby’s grandson Sebastian discovered an old bottle at his mother’s house. Inspired by the story about his grandfather and his exclusive Indonesian recipe, he went to Schiedam, the city where gin originated and he met the seventh generation master distiller of Herman Jansen. Together they started working on creating a unique gin, blending the tradition of Schiedam jenever with the best Indonesian botanicals and spises.

In 2014, after almost two years of distilling, developing and refining, Bobby’s Schiedam Dry Gin was born.
