The Origins

The Single Origin Blends from Cane Island are blends of rum coming from different distilleries from one country. At the moment Cane Island produces three different Single Origin rums from Jamaica, Barbados and Cuba. Each one of these islands has a long history in rum production with their own styles and traditions. All rums from Cane Island reflect the true rum characteristics and identity of the island.

Jamaican Rum

During the 17th century, Jamaica was the largest sugar producing island in the Caribbean. The sugar- and rum industry have always been tightly linked, and as a result, Jamaica has a long tradition in rum production. Today, the Jamaican rum industry is well developed and very diverse. The island gives home to some of the most iconic rum distilleries of the Caribbean. Jamaican rum producers are famous for their copper pot still distillation, which is the artisanal way of rum making, resulting in powerful and fruity flavours.

The rum in this bottle has matured in American white oak barrels for a period of 5 years. It has been aged in the tropical climate of Jamaica. This tropical ageing in three times more intense than ageing in colder climates because the heat in the Caribbean intensifies the interaction between the rum and the wood. This is a typical Jamaican rum with a great balance between fruity pot still flavours and the woodiness that resulted from tropical barrel ageing. The base material is molasses, and the distillation is mostly Pot Still.
