La Maison du Rhum El Salvador Batch 4

A splendid example of rum with a wine finish. After spending 8 years in ex-Bourbon casks, La Maison du Rhum El Salvador Batch 4 received a 2-year-long continental finish in ex-wine casks from the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape region. The result is a mix of dried fruits, tobacco and oak on the palate.

Country of origin El Salvador

La Maison du Rhum - An invitation to 'planet rum'

La Maison du Rhum is composed of extremely rare spirits, selected to meet the highest requirements in terms of quality: distillery selection, still type and ageing methods. Every bottle denotes a specific vintage or age and aims to respect the same values that make up the various parameters of the world of rum. La Maison du Rhum’s ambition is to value every origin and style, each tradition and know-how.

The small country of Salvador, located between Honduras and Guatemala, enjoys a tropical climate and a volcanic soil conductive to sugar cane farming. Maja rums are made from molasses and distilled in a 4 column still. The blends are mastered by Don Pancho Fernandez, a Cuban maestro ronero, renowned for his experience and expertise. El Salvodor 2011 matured in ex-Bourbon casks and received a finish in ex-Châteauneuf-du-Pape wine casks for one year. The rum is limited to 3,127 bottles.
